DESCRIPTION:Wednesday 18 March at 6:00pm for drinks, discussion 6:30pm, and dinner 7:30pm\nSpeaker: Kerry Boland, Former United nations (UN) worker and Club member\nSubject: Stories from the field. Experiences and lessons learned working in UN agencies at the grass roots level.\nKerry has worked with refugees in Australia and overseas since the 1980s with Red Cross, UNHCR and UNICEF. She was a member of the Social Security Appeals Tribunal. She was appointed Senior Member of the Refugee Review Tribunal for 10 years prior to returning to work overseas with UN agencies in 2008. She has served on several NGO boards including ACOSS, UN Association (VIC) and the Australian Refugee Council.\nKerry will reflect on her experiences working on the ground in a number of challenging environments globally and locally supporting people fleeing from conflict, disaster and persecution, and how these experiences have shaped her understanding of problem solving.\n
