DESCRIPTION:Monday 23 February at 10.00am\nMetro Rail Tunnel\nThe Melbourne Metro Tunnel is a major public transport project featuring twin 9km underground tunnels and five new stations (Arden, Parkville, State Library, Town Hall, Anzac) beneath the CBD, connecting the Sunbury Line to the Cranbourne/Pakenham Lines to create a new cross-city rail line, freeing up capacity in the busy City Loop and delivering more frequent, direct services across the network.\nOur first ramble in 2026 will explore this important piece of infrastructure and new ways of getting around the city. We will meet above ground at the new Anzac tram stop in St Kilda Road at 10.00am. We will then descend to catch the train through the tunnel to Arden Station before returning, exploring the architecture of each new station and their art works along the way. We will conclude by 1.00pm in the CBD with an optional lunch.\nNo cost: myki ticket required\n
