DESCRIPTION:Friday 31 July at 9.00am\nExcursion: Maryborough\nMaryborough is a historic gold rush town famous for its grandiose 19th-century architecture, particularly its monumental railway station, which famously prompted Mark Twain to describe it as “a railway station with a town attached.” We will travel by train to Maryborough via Ballarat where we will enjoy lunch in the magnificent former station dining room followed by a tour of the station. We will then undertake a self-guided walking tour of the town before catching the train back to Melbourne arriving at 5.23pm.\nMeet at Southern Cross station at 9.00am at the southern (Collins Street) end of Platform 2A.
