SUMMARY:GARDEN CIRCLE
DESCRIPTION:Thursday 6 August at 2.00pm, optional lunch at 12.30pm\nSubject: A reflection of changes and achievements – Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria\nSpeaker: Andrew Laidlaw Landscape Architect\nAndrew Laidlaw’s talk will reflect on the history of the RBGV and his role as it’s Landscape Architect which now spans 30years. He will discuss how this garden has kept pace with a contemporary society, reflecting on how the focus has shifted over these years – climate change, first nations and people’s health and wellbeing, being among the current drivers. Now working over both Melbourne and Cranbourne sites, the talk will touch on the Australian Garden and plans moving forward. Andrew will also talk on his role as the president of Global Gardens of Peace, looking at some of the work now being done for marginalized communities both here and internationally. \n
