SUMMARY:MOTHER & SON DINNER
DESCRIPTION:Friday 21 August 2026 at 6.00pm for 6.30pm\nCelebrate our annual Mother & Son dinner with Australian comedian, television and radio presenter, author and producer, political junkie and law graduate (son and father) Charlie Pickering in conversation with Libbi Gorr.\nSubject: The things my mother taught me.\nCharlie Pickering is edgy, polished, and inventive. The new Drive host on 774 ABC Melbourne, where he also helms Thank God It’s Friday!, and host of The Weekly with Charlie Pickering, Charlie’s main prerequisite for any gig is his name in the title. Charlie spent ten years as an award-winning international comic, with nominations in Edinburgh and Melbourne and an invite to Montreal’s Just for Laughs. A founding host of The Project in 2009, he launched The Weekly in 2015 and talks NFL on Any Given Sunday Australia.\nDrawing on her considerable experience as a (stellar) broadcaster and interviewer in TV and radio for the ABC, Libbi Gorr will attempt to uncover the things that Charlie’s mother really did teach him. Libbi is currently developing a feature film and creates the Red Card For Mummy Podcast, made for people like her whose kids are fanatical about soccer but who weren’t brought up with the game. Author of The A to Z of Mummy Manners, Libbi has a son (who is perfect and cannot do any wrong) and a daughter. Libbi’s mother, Beverley Gorr is a Lyceum Club stalwart, as was her grandmother, Jean Cohen.\n$125.00 for a three course dinner and wine.\n
