DESCRIPTION:Tuesday 7 July at 11.45 for 12noon\nSpeakers: Club member, Melbourne Laureate Professor Marcia Langton AO and Professor Catherine Chamberlain in Conversation\nSubject: Indigenous Maternal and Child Health\nMarcia and Catherine will discuss the state of maternal and child health for Indigenous women in Australia today, drawing on their professional experience and extensive research.\nProfessor Langton AO is an anthropologist and geographer, and since 2000 has held the Foundation Chair of Australian Indigenous Studies at the University of Melbourne. She has produced a large body of knowledge in the areas of political and legal anthropology, Indigenous agreements and engagement with the minerals industry, and Indigenous culture and art.\nProfessor Chamberlain (PhD, MScPHP, MPH, GradCert HSM, GCIRL) is a Palawa (Trawlwoolway) person, perinatal epidemiologist and registered midwife (BSc) with public health training. She is Director of the Indigenous Health Unit in Onemda Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Wellbeing, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, The University of Melbourne, and has over 30 years’ experience in maternal-child health services in urban and remote Australia, and overseas with international aid agencies.\n$95.00 for two course lunch with wine.\n
