SUMMARY:ART CIRCLE
DESCRIPTION:Thursday 28 May at 2.00pm \nSpeakers: Nur Terzi and Feyza Yazar\nSubject: Turkish Islamic Arts in Melbourne\nNur Terzi is a Turkish-Australian visual artist specialising in traditional Turkish Islamic arts, including Ebru (paper marbling), calligraphy, and Tezhip (illumination). A graduate of La Trobe University (Law/Media), Nur brings a thoughtful and contemporary perspective to her practice, aiming to connect traditional art forms with modern Australian audiences. She is the recipient of the Hume Creative Activity Grant (2024), and in 2025 presented her first solo exhibition, and has delivered workshops and community programs across Melbourne. Her work is deeply inspired by the spiritual and symbolic qualities of Islamic art, expressed through intricate patterns, floral forms, and a meditative creative process.\n
