DESCRIPTION:Thursday 21 May at 2.00pm\nSpeaker: Elida Brereton\nSubject: Antarctica and South Georgia\nElida Brereton travelled to South America with her sister and brother-in-law and a recently widowed friend in mid-February 2020 and after a lovely time in Buenos Aires and the Iguazu Falls the group flew to Ushuaia at the southern tip of the continent and boarded L’Austral, a ship of the Ponant line, for 15 days in Antarctica and South Georgia, the latter the last resting place on one of Elida’s heroes, Sir Ernest Shackleton. Everything went well into Covid struck the world….and L’Austral was locked out of her final destination….\n$60.00 for optional one-course lunch with wine at 12:30pm (before the Circle).\n
