SUMMARY:ART CIRCLE
DESCRIPTION:Thursday 23 April at 2.00pm \nSpeaker: John Perceval: All That We Are\nSpeaker: Kendrah Morgan\nThis lecture explores the first twenty-five years of the career of John de Burgh Perceval (1923–2000), a maverick figure in the creative circle associated with John and Sunday Reed at Heide. Active as a painter from the late 1930s, Perceval created a unique body of work that was fundamentally humanist in orientation, shaped by childhood memory, psychological experience, the impacts of war, and an intense response to the natural environment.\nKendrah traces the development of Perceval’s deeply personal vision and readily identifiable aesthetic, which have secured him an undisputed place in the canon of twentieth-century Australian art.\n$60.00 for a one course lunch with beverages.\n
