DESCRIPTION:Tuesday 14 April at 11.45am for 12noon\nSpeaker: Lindy Joubert\nSubject: Craft, Culture and the Silk Road\nAcademic, Artist and Club member, Lindy Joubert, has taught Architecture at Melbourne University for 32 years and Design in the School of Visual and Performing Arts for 12 years (previously at the University of Melbourne). She is an advisor in cultural activities across the Asia/Pacific region, Editor of the UNESCO Observatory e-journal, Board member of the Asean Handicraft Promotion and Development Association, and an accomplished artist with 43 Exhibitions – 6 in New York City – to her credit. Lindy’s genre as an Artist is Magic Realism. She is currently editing a new suite of “Educating in the Crafts” books for Springer Publisher: “Craft Shaping Society”, “Tradition and Invention”, and “Craft – Celebration and Revival”. Lindy established Global Craft and Cultural Tours to the Silk Road and World Craft Cities and conducts cultural tours to Central Asia and beyond.\nLindy Joubert has recently returned from her fifth craft and arts tour to Uzbekistan.
